He is currently assistant professor at Lusíada University in Lisbon and Oporto, Portugal, coordinator of the CLIPIS - Lusíada Research Center of International Politics and Security, director of the journal “Lusíada. International Politics and Security” and “National Defense Auditor” by the Institute of National Defense of Portugal.
He holds a PhD in International Relations and Political Science with a thesis on “The political transition in Mozambique and the role of the International Community”. He was a member of the TOLA (Transatlantic Opinion Leaders for Afghanistan) mission in Afghanistan, in October 2010, organized by NATO.
He has published extensively in several journals and presented papers in national and international conferences. His latest publications are: “The foreign policy of Angola in the new international context”, “A multi-track diplomacy in the prevention and resolution of african conflicts: the successful case of Mozambique”, in co-authorship “The foreign policy of the democratic Portugal" and "From the Gulf of Aden to the Gulf of Guinea: a new maritime mission for NATO". He is a member of the portuguese, american and international political science associations.
